The Company Secretary (CS) qualification is awarded and regulated by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), a statutory body constituted under the Company Secretaries Act, 1980. On average, students complete CSEET, Executive and Professional — including mandatory training — in about 3 years, depending on exam attempts and preparation pace. CSEET is held three times a year (February, June, October), while Executive and Professional are held in the June and December ICSI exam sessions.
